IT was mixed results for Keysborough Bowls Club’s four men’s pennant sides in the Royal Victorian Bowls Association semi-finals on Saturday.
The club’s firsts division two side, with its 84-80 defeat of Bentleigh, and its fourth division seven side, which beat St Kilda 94-78, won the right to play in yesterday’s sectional grand finals.
The seconds division four lost 97-85 to Waverley Golf and the thirds division six team lost 95-81 to Albert Park.
Finals action for the club continues on Thursday when the ladies’ B3 side takes on Eltham in post-sectional finals at Lalor.
Meanwhile, Keysborough’s Saturday ladies have finished the season in equal second place, two points behind Berwick.
The club’s Marilyn Mulcock, May Jameson, Joan Grant and Una Jameson have won the right to play for the VLBA state 4s title to be held at Burden Park Bowling Club on April 21.
In men’s singles action, Keith Horsnell was crowned club champion after winning 25-21 in a stirring contest with Ian Mitchell on Australia Day.
