THE Dandenong Rangers are knocking on the door of the WNBL's top four after an impressive 76-44 win against a young and inexperienced squad from the Australian Institute of Sport on Saturday night.
With three wins from five games, the Rangers appear more settled and confident in their game.
After a competitive first half, the Rangers steamrolled the AIS with a blistering 44-18 run in the third and fourth quarters.
Australia's emerging young talent at the AIS just couldn't contain Dandenong's experience or match it physically.
Highlighting Dandenong's successful junior program, the two best players for the AIS were Elizabeth Cambage (13 points) and Stephanie Cumming (9), both Rangers
juniors.
Leading the way for Dandenong were Nicole Hunt (15 points) and Caitlin Cunningham (12), while veteran Emily McInerny became the
provider with seven assists.
The win pushes the Rangers to fifth on the ladder ahead of a trip to Canberra this Saturday to play the second-placed Capitals.
