OPPOSITION attacks against Casey councillor Kevin Bradford and his former Labor MP employer intensified with a barrage of questions fired at Local Government Minister Richard Wynne in Parliament last week.
During the process Opposition leader Ted Baillieu called for a wider Ombudsman's investigation into Casey.
In response, Cr Bradford described the questioning as "another cowardly attempt under the protection of parliamentary privilege" and part of a pre-election smear campaign against the State Government.
Mr Baillieu and Nationals leader Peter Ryan questioned Mr Wynne over the 2008 Worklogic Consulting report into a bullying complaint by former City of Casey employee Jennie Lee, against Cr Bradford.
Mr Ryan asked Mr Wynne whether he had raised the allegations with Cr Bradford's then-employer, Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan.
Mr Baillieu compared Casey to the troubled Brimbank Council.
Cr Bradford said he gave no weight to the Worklogic report, as the consultant had been handpicked by his opponents at Casey, and Local Government Victoria found he had no case to answer.
