Hoon crushers

25 Jan, 2010 08:18 AM
Victorian Liberal-National Coalition leaders Ted Baillieu and Peter Ryan visited Norstar Metal Recyclers in Dandenong South on Friday to announce the Opposition's zero-tolerance plan for hoons. The plan includes immediate 30-day vehicle impoundment for a first hoon offence and a compulsory safe driving course for the offender. A second offence would bring three months impoundment of the car and a third offence would mean forfeiture and crushing of the vehicle after parts had been stripped and sold. On the same day, the State Government announced plans to crush hoon cars or sell them and donate the funds to victims of crime.
