HALLAM has its own cricketing Harry Potter in eight-ball wizard Robert Parker.
The right-arm seamer took 4-0, including a hat-trick, during a spell of eight magical balls and set a club record of 11 dismissals.
Parker's first over in the turf 3 game against Doveton was a double-wicket maiden.
After taking a wicket on the last ball, he took two wickets with his first two deliveries of his next over to give him his first hat-trick and cast a spell over the Doves. They were all out for 54 chasing the Hawks' 286.
The 15-year-old produced more wizardry with three wickets in Doveton's second dig of 114 to finish with match figures of 7-9 off 9.2 overs.
He also took two catches and effected two runouts to create a club record for individual dismissals for a game.
Parker said it was the most memorable eight balls he had bowled. "It all happened so quickly, I couldn't believe it. It was magic. It's the best spell of bowling I've ever had. I can remember every one of those eight balls.
"We had attacking fields set, so I decided to to bowl on the spot and the pitch was doing a bit, which helped.
"I was rapt when I got the hat-trick. It was a good day out, considering I thought we weren't going to play because of rain during the week."
Hallam president Gary Davidson said he initially had trouble believing anyone could take a hat-trick during a spell of only eight balls and had to take a second look at the scorebook. "I can't recall anyone having figures like that before, or anyone taking a hat-trick bowling during an eight-ball spell. As for someone being involved in 11 dismissals in a game, it's got to be a club record."
